About Felicity. In 1991, American Girl produced their fourth Historical Character doll, Felicity Merriman. She was the first new doll to be sold after the release of the three original Historical dolls in 1986. Felicity’s story takes place from 1774 to 1776 in Williamsburg, Virginia.
