    • The 2,000-year old menorah. Hidden treasures often carry much historical significance. Almost 1,950 years ago, in the year 70 AD, the Romans sacked the Temple of Jerusalem and absconded with the temple’s prized Menorah.
    • The Imperial Seal of China. The Imperial Seal, also known as the Heirloom Seal of the Realm, is a jade seal that was carved in 221 BC for the then-newly elevated Emperor of China.
    • The Crown Jewels of England. Back in the year 1216, King John of England was so despised that he’s known as King John the Bad. After signing the disastrous Magna Carta, he was fleeing from enemies carrying with him some of the Crown Jewels of England.
    • The Scepter of Dagobert. The Sceptre of Dagobert was part of France’s crown jewels. Dating from the 7th century (it was created for King Dagobert for his coronation) and made of solid gold, it was stored in the Basilica of St Denis until 1795, when it disappeared, never to be seen again.

    • The Lost Silver Cave. This may be not only one of the most famous tales of lost treasure in Pennsylvania, but it’s also one with quite a few interesting notes that suggest it might just be out there waiting to be discovered.
    • The “American Robin Hood’s” Buried Gold. David "Robber" Lewis was a counterfeiter-turned-thief in the early 1800s who was known for his habit of "robbing the rich to give to the poor," and his crimes were well covered by regional newspapers.
    • The Union Soldier’s Stash at Dent’s Run. In 1863, a Union Lieutenant escorted a wagon equipped with a false bottom to conceal several dozen gold bars to Washington D.C., hoping to avoid Confederate troops using a roundabout path through Pennsylvania.
