The Invisibility Spell ( incantation unknown) was a charm that rendered something invisible. It created a field of invisibility around the charmed object and thus differed from the Disillusionment Charm, which hid objects by causing them to blend into their surroundings.
While Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix claims that this does not induce invisibility but merely camouflages the target, Wonderbook: Book of Spells later states that it does, in fact, cause complete invisibility.

May 28, 2017 · Invisibility. This spell effect is different in that the Invisible person or object is still very much present, just impossible for most beings to see. The Invisibility Cloak is an example of this effect. Invisible Ink is also still on the paper, just impossible to see.
