    • Tommie Frazier. There was little doubt here. As a starter, Frazier was 33-3 over his career (including bowl games) and oh yeah, two national titles. Both the 1994 and 1995 teams were bruising running teams, but the 1995 team with Frazier at the helm was truly record setting.
    • Turner Gill. Smooth as a baby's butt would be the way to describe the option series during Gill's tenure at the helm. He took the race car that was Osborne's offense from 1981-1983 and put the pedal to the metal.
    • Jerry Tagge. Two national titles, what more needs to be said? Plenty. Tagge was the tough leader of Devaney's finest teams. He split time with Van Brownson at the helm in 1970, and then in 1971, it was all his, and he came through.
    • Steve Taylor. The quarterback for several of Osborne's "oh so close" seasons of the mid- and late-80s. We never quite got there, and probably put too much blame on the quarterback, and thus don't appreciate him and what he accomplished enough.

    Season 12

At a match between the Texas Longhorns and the Nebraska Cornhuskers, Middleton had paid for a luxury box ticket for the game. Because his flight was late, he was not able to watch the game in-person and only arrived to the stadium when the game finished with victory for Nebraska. Previously, while Middleton was traveling to the stadium, Hank, Bobby and the guys went into his luxury box, with Dale falsely telling a waiter that he and his friends were family members of Middleton. During the game, the Cornhuskers' coach was knocked unconscious by a football player rushing into him, so Assistant Coach Will Benton was called up to act as the interim coach. Panicking about the game since it was the fourth quarter and the Longhorns were in the lead, Benton called the telephone in Middleton's luxury booth for advice on what their next move would be. Because Dale answered the phone, Hank begrudgingly agreed to pretend to be Middleton and advised Benton to have the quarterback pitch the football to the half-back, who would quick-kickit to the coffin corner. Baffled, Benton asked why that was a good move since the football would essentially be in the Longhorns' possession. Hank retorted that Texas would not expect it, reminding him that he called "him" (Middleton) for advice in the first place. Subsequently, Benton and the Cornhuskers followed the strategy and won because a Longhorn player accidentally fumbled the ball to a Cornhusker player. As the press spoke with Benton on the football field about his win, Middleton came by to say hello but was immediately confused when Benton credited him for winning the game. Clarifying that he was not sure what was going on, Middleton stated that his plane was late and he had just arrived at the stadium. They then realized that there were people in Middleton's luxury box who were responsible for the advice, but they were surprised to hear that Hank was wearing a Longhorns jersey and not a Nebraska one.
