Visitors can watch as glass artisans make green glass wine bottles, similar to those found at Jamestown, and other items at the Glasshouse. These reproduction objects, including vases, pitchers, candleholders, wine glasses and paper weights, are available for purchase in the Gift Shop.

In 1608, glassmaking, America’s first English industry, began in Jamestown, Virginia. Today, costumed craftsmen, using tools and techniques similar to those used centuries ago, blow one-of-a-kind period reproductions and contemporary pieces. Only green glass is blown at the Glasshouse, but other colors are blown at an off-site location.
