U.S. Agent (John Walker) is a character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics, usually those starring Captain America and the Avengers. Created by Mark Gruenwald and Paul Neary, the character first appeared in Captain America #323 (November 1986) as Super-Patriot.
In the comics, John Walker was a former United States Army soldier who was originally known as the Super-Patriot, an anti-hero who was the dark reflection of Captain America and his views on patriotism. Walker later took over the mantle of Captain America after Steve Rogers abandoned the role.
