The murders took place in house No. 28 of the Keddie Resort. The bodies of Wingate, Sue and John Sharp were found on the morning of April 12 by Sue's 14-year-old daughter Sheila, who had been sleeping at a friend's house. Sue's two younger sons, Rick and Greg, as well as their friend Justin Smartt, were also in the house but were unharmed.

Feb 15, 2022 · On April 22, 1984, Tina Sharp's remains were found in a wooded area of Butte County, which, as reported by California News Times, was approximately 100 miles from Keddie. In 2016, a hammer, which could have been the one Smartt reportedly said he lost, was found in a pond near where the Keddie cabin once stood.

Jul 15, 2020 · Evidence Inside Cabin 28. Given the extent of the brutality of the Keddie cabin murders, there was plenty of evidence left behind. Investigators discovered two bloody knives, a hammer, and a plastic piece from a BB gun. The weapons included a steak knife that came from Sue’s kitchen.

- The Scene Suggests More Than One Killer. On April 12, 1981, 14-year-old Sheila Sharp was returning from a sleepover when she discovered three dead bodies in her family's cabin at the Keddie Resort: her 36-year-old single mother, Sue; her brother Johnny, 15; and Johnny's friend Dana Wingate, 17.
