Laura Park Biography. Laura Park set out to be an elementary school teacher long before painting. But her interior design interests took over when she created her retail space, Laura Park Interiors at Cotswold Marketplace in Charlotte four years ago.
Laura Park is a self-taught artist and began painting in 2011. Her abstracts are spontaneous and intuitive. Inspired by colors in nature, textiles and design, she paints with a variety of mediums including acrylics, guache, pastels and oil crayon.
A former elementary school teacher, and mother of four, Laura took to painting full time in 2012, drawing inspiration from other established painters, the change of seasons, and her travels. Laura’s art, playful and layered with a beautiful pastel palette, soon captured attention for its sophisticated abstract strokes and color studies.
