With dramatic views of the Manhattan skyline, Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, Liberty State Park draws four million guests a year. Located within the 1,212-acre park is the historic Central Railroad of New Jersey Terminal, a grand setting for much of New Jersey's transportation history.
Liberty State Park has continued to grow and develop. Today, the Park incorporates 1,212 acres. Approximately half of this area is the open waters of the New York-New Jersey Harbor Estuary. The remaining 600 acres of parkland provides a combination of open space, wildlife habitat and recreational opportunities.
On the New York Harbor, less than 2,000 feet from the Statue of Liberty, Liberty State Park has served a vital role in the development of New Jersey's metropolitan region and the history of the nation.
