Phillip "Lip" Gallagher (born 12 June 1988 is the eldest son and second child of Frank and Monica Gallagher. His parents delayed his birth registration for over a year; he discovered this on his 18th (actually 19th) birthday in Series 4.
- 1 He Is Ian's Best Man. When Ian and Mickey marry, it is truly magnificent. The two go through so much together and throughout the later parts of the series, it seems impossible for them to reunite.
- 2 He Has Freddie. Lip and Tami may not be the most popular of couples from this series, but it is nice to see them as parents to Freddie. Lip clearly prides himself in being a good father, as he does not have one in Frank.
- 3 He Finds His Career Path. Although Lip never ends up finishing his college education, he ends up finding a great job later down the line. He is a motorcycle mechanic and takes a lot of pride in his position.
- 4 He Seeks Help. Lip's bout with alcoholism ends up becoming a big storyline. This is why his seeking help is such a huge moment in the series. This is where Lip truly matures and grows immensely, as he recognizes that he has a problem and hopes to solve it.

He played Phillip "Lip" Gallagher in the comedy-drama series Shameless (2011–2021) and chef Carmen "Carmy" Berzatto in the comedy-drama series The Bear (2022–present). For the latter, he received a Primetime Emmy Award and two Golden Globe Awards .
