A California man who allegedly shot a 21-year-old unarmed Black man who was crossing the street told him, “Oh, you think you can run?” before firing his weapon and striking the young man in the back of his leg, officials said Friday.
Waters faces 22 years in prison when he is sentenced on May 22, in the Hall of Justice in San Jose. “This man shot an innocent person on our streets for no sensible reason,” District Attorney Jeff Rosen said. “A jury rightfully saw him as an extremely dangerous criminal. Now, respectfully, we hope the judge will agree.”
