One Eyed Jacks is no longer at the Sarasota Dog Track. It's now in a strip mall on Bee Ridge Drive, a short drive west of I-75. The new room is at least four times the size of the old room. The bar is significantly upgraded. The west wall has the race TVs and seating area. Nothing super comfortable but good enough. Poker staff is always cordial.

The new One-Eyed Jack’s is located in the Palm Plaza shopping center in Sarasota. Other occupants include a Dollar General, a dance studio, and a couple of car parts stores. The front desk staff was extremely helpful and the tournament floor and dealers were all excellent. They were fast, competent, and personable. The players at One-Eyed Jack’s were largely regulars. They were diverse in age, gender, and ethnicity. There was a range of playing styles represented, from quite tight to extremely wild and aggressive.
When we arrived around 1pm on a Saturday, there were 17 cash tables in play. Games included $1/2, $1/3, $2/5, and a few limit tables. One-Eyed Jack’s offers an active, comfortable poker room south of St. Petersburg and near the lovely Siesta Key. The staff is both friendly and extremely competent. While the tournament that we played was a bit wonky, we would happily return here to try one of the regular tournaments.
