Founded in 1884, Park River is a friendly town located in the Red River Valley in northeastern North Dakota. Surrounded by some of the best agricultural land in the world, lush fields of potatoes, sugar beets, small grains, edible beans, sunflowers, canola and corn are visible for many miles.
Park River is a city in Walsh County, North Dakota, United States. The population was 1,424 at the 2020 census. Park River was founded in 1884. In 1903, a Park River blacksmith named Samuel Holland built a motor car called the Holland Special. He built at least five more cars between 1903 and 1908.
While its location in the northern Red River Valley places it smack dab in the agricultural heart of the state, it offers a lot more to visitors, beginning with a slate of recreational activities. Visitors should play a round or two (or more) at Hillcrest Golf Club.
