May 11, 2018 · Pedro II (1825-1891) was the second emperor of Brazil. His wise rule brought internal peace and progress to Brazil while most of his Latin American neighbors were absorbed in disastrous civil strife. On Dec. 2, 1825, Pedro was born in the imperial residence at São Christovão.
