Over 30 years after the band's breakup, Atomic Rooster reformed in 2016 with the blessing of Crane's widow Jean, with former members Pete French and Steve Bolton joined by bassist Shug Millidge, keyboardist Christian Madden and drummer Bo Walsh.

Mar 31, 2024 · The current lead singer of Atomic Rooster is Pete French. Born in 1945 in London, French grew up in a musical family and started singing in bands when he was still in his teens. He was known for his powerful and soulful voice, which led him to work with several well-known bands including Cactus and Leaf Hound.
The backing tracks (and some vocals) were recorded by Vincent Crane, John Cann and Paul Hammond, but Cann and Hammond were let go from the group soon after vocalist Pete French was drafted in. The album's overall sound is dominated by Crane and Hammond, with many of Cann's guitar parts either not used or placed lower in the mix.
In the short span of a few years ('68-'72), Peter French went through four groups including a stint with an original member of Fleetwood Mac plus heavy prog-sters Atomic Rooster, the even heavier rock of Cactus and the under-rated stoner-rock of Leaf Hound. French is no slacker nowadays, leading revived versions of both Rooster and Leaf Hound.
