Welcome To Phelps Mansion Museum. In 1868 and 1869, Sherman David Phelps, a banker and businessman, bought three adjoining properties along Court Street. The three existing houses were torn down so that construction could begin on a new home. The initial cost for the mansion was projected at $70,000.
Dorr and Agnes Felt began visiting the Saugatuck area in the early 1900s. By 1915, Dorr Felt had purchased nearly 1000 acres along Lake Michigan. Before the Felt Mansion was built (in 1925), the family staying in a farmhouse adjacent to the Carriage House.

The Museum is open for tours Thursday-Sunday from 11am to 5pm. Tours are offered at the following times: 11:00 am-12:00 pm. 12:30 pm-1:30 pm. 2:00 pm- 3:00 pm. 3:30 pm-4:30 pm.
