    WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO VISIT OTARU?

    Although Otaru can be visited all year round, the peak season would be autumn to admire the beautiful foliage or winter to enjoy the snow everywhere and the Otaru Snow Festival. If you decide to go there during autumn, make sure you go there in mid-October for the peak foliage period. The leaves change color sooner in Hokkaido than in the rest of Japan. We went there around the 3rd week of October and it was perfect.
