Rock Island State Park offers 40 primitive, walk-in tent sites. Two of the sites are group campsites. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring. Camping is permitted in designated campsites only. There is drinking water near the dock and boathouse. Vault toilets are available.
Rock Island State Park offers two campgrounds for campers. The main campground has 50 sites with RV hookups while the tent only campground has 10 sites available for those who prefer to rough it. Rock Island, the park's namesake, is an island located in the Caney Fork at 35.79502°N 85.60448°W, approximately 1 mile (1.6 km) upstream from the present site of Great Falls Dam. The community of Rock Island is located along Great Falls Lake east of the state park.
Directions. Two ferry rides are needed to reach Rock Island State Park. Take Wisconsin Highway 42 to its end at Northport, the tip of the Door County Peninsula. Take the Washington Island Ferry [exit DNR] to Washington Island. The ferry carries people, vehicles, bicycles and freight.
