Roxanne Kaboli-Nejad was born on 26 December 1982 in Carlisle, Cumbria to an Iranian father, Johandar Kaboli-Nejad and an English mother, Monica Pallett. After her father walked out on the family, Roxanne took her mother's surname and was brought up in Currockby her mother and grandmother. Her maternal grandfather was Italian.
