Silver Strand State Beach offers both day-use and overnight RV camping, picnic areas, bathroom and shower facilities and fantastic shell collecting. The spot is named for the silvery oyster shells that cover the beach and dunes here and you can also find clams buried in the sand by the water.
Silver Strand State Beach has 2.5 miles of oceanfront beach on one side, and one-half mile of beach on the San Diego Bay. It is a recreational site where people can camp out for a night or two exploring all it has to offer.

Welcome to Silver Strand State Beach! Silver Strand has ocean and bay front beaches and rare coastal sand dunes inhabited by sensitive birds and rare plants. A portion of the State Beach is an underwater park.
The great wide blue and pounding surf of the Pacific on one side; a sweet curve of sand around warmer, calm waters on the other. And in between, plenty of run-around room, a chance to try surfing, or build a bonfire on the beach with your family.
