The Broad (/ b r oʊ d /) is a contemporary art museum on Grand Avenue in Downtown Los Angeles. The museum is named for philanthropists Eli and Edythe Broad, who financed the $140 million building that houses the Broad art collections. It offers free general admission to its permanent collection galleries.
Designed by Diller Scofidio + Renfro in collaboration with Gensler, and built by MATT Construction, The Broad was the first major art museum in Los Angeles and one of only a handful of museums nationwide to achieve LEED Gold status.
