Too Many Husbands (released in the United Kingdom as My Two Husbands) is a 1940 American romantic comedy film about a woman who loses her husband in a boating accident and remarries, only to have her first spouse reappear—yet another variation on the 1864 poem Enoch Arden by Alfred, Lord Tennyson.
Two endings were filmed, one in which Jean Arthur ends up staying with Melvyn Douglas and one in which she ends up with her first husband, Fred MacMurray.

Synopsis. One year after the supposed drowning death of Vicky Lowndes' (Arthur) first husband, Bill (MacMurray), and six months after she has married his friend and partner, Henry (Douglas), Bill returns. He was marooned on an uninhabited island. Now, Vicky has two husbands. They are arguing over her.
Too Many Husbands was filmed with two possible endings. In one, Arthur decides to say with MacMurray, in the other Douglas.
