Commissioners in chancery are utilized for certain matters. Additional information can be found online at www.vbgov.com/courts. In the Virginia Beach Circuit Court Clerk's Office, copy fees are $0.50 per sheet of paper and $2.00 per certification of order.

The Fairfax Circuit Court (19th Judicial Circuit) is the trial court of general jurisdiction and is the largest trial court in Virginia, composed of fifteen full-time trial judges. It has authority to try a full range of cases, both civil and criminal, jury and non-jury.
The circuit court is the trial court with the broadest powers in Virginia. The circuit court handles all civil cases with claims of more than $25,000. It shares authority with the general district court to hear matters involving claims between $4,500 and $25,000.
