Walt Disney built a barn in his backyard in 1950 to monitor and control his Carolwood Pacific Railroad. The barn was saved and moved to Griffith Park, where it is open to the public on the third Sunday of each month.

Walt Disney's Barn. Amidst his railroad, Walt built a barn where he could monitor and control the operation of his railroad. Walt's Barn also served as a workshop and a place for Walt to relax. The Barn is open to the public in Los Angeles' Griffith Park.
Walt's Barn is filled with his personal railroad history, history of Disneyland, and many interesting miniature live steam and other models. It is also known as "the birthplace of Imagineering." Please check the calendar for more information about Carolwood activities and events.
