Dec 11, 2023 · Watson Lake SWA - Larimer County. Located 2 miles west of LaPorte and 6 miles northwest of Fort Collins. From Fort Collins, go north on highway 287 from highway 14. Stay on "Old 287" (do not take 287 bypass) to the town of LaPorte.
Watson Lake is a small, quiet lake with several picnic benches, a nice walking path, and breathtaking scenery. Not usually busy, as it is a bit hidden, and only about 15 minutes from Old Town Fort Collins.

Check out this 12.5-mile out-and-back trail near Bellvue, Colorado. Generally considered an easy route. This trail is great for road biking, and it's unlikely you'll encounter many other people while exploring. The best times to visit this trail are April through October. Preview trail.
