  5. Welcome. 00:00. Youth of America was an outgrowth of the San Leandro Unified School District ’s summer Fine Arts Workshop program, dating back to 1950. The six-week annual program started with 125 students and 2 teachers and had an ensemble called Showtime USA, later becoming Young America.
