Jun 10, 2019 · June 10, 2019. As Summer Begins, So Does Camp at IYA! Indian Youth of America (IYA) summer camps provide Native children ages 10 to 14 with cultural, educational and recreational opportunities as well as positive guidance and mentoring from an all-indigenous staff.
As a leading authority for summer camps and youth development, ACA works to preserve, promote, and improve the camp experience. ACA is a comprehensive resource for parents and families, residential camps, day camps, and travel camps, summer camp staff, and after-school and out-of-school programs.
Since 1999, Running Strong has partnered with Indian Youth of America (IYA) to help support IYA’s youth camp program. IYA runs camps each summer that are created especially for Native American children.

Welcome. 00:00. Youth of America was an outgrowth of the San Leandro Unified School District ’s summer Fine Arts Workshop program, dating back to 1950. The six-week annual program started with 125 students and 2 teachers and had an ensemble called Showtime USA, later becoming Young America.
Camps are available for youth entering 3rd-8th grade in the 2024-2025 school year. Register Here. Schedule. Week-long day camps are typically $275* per child, per week. Financial assistance is available. Programming runs Monday-Thursday, 9:30 a.m – 3:30 p.m and Friday, 9:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
