Within the Ruins. Within the Ruins is an American metalcore band formed in Westfield, Massachusetts in 2003. The group currently consists of guitarist Joe Cocchi, drummer Kevin McGuill, bassist Paolo Galang, and vocalist Steve Tinnon. They are currently signed to eOne Music and Good Fight Music. [3]

All the same, while Within The Ruins have made an improvement in their sound here, I still think there are a few very important things missing from them. Most importantly, Within The Ruins still suffers from a lack of variety, melody, originality, or really anything that could make 'Empires' a fairly memorable experience.
Within the Ruins is a technical metal band from Massachusetts. Relatively unknown outside of the greater New England area, it's a surprise they aren't signed yet. Within the Ruins plays a style of metal reminiscent of Veil of Maya and Meshuggah, filled with melodic riffs and oddly-timed breakdowns.
