The Stone Boy tells the story of nine-year-old Arnold, who has lived his whole life in the shadow of his beautiful and accomplished older brother, Eugene, (known as “Eugie”). One morning, Arnold wakes up very early to pick peas with his brother.
A nine-year-old boy accidentally kills his brother and does not return home for an hour. The story explores the mystery of his behavior and the reactions of his family and the sheriff.
