Charles H. Gray (November 27, 1921 – August 2, 2008) was an American television and film actor. Gray was best known for his work in the TV series Highway Patrol as Officer Edwards, trail scout Clay Forrester in Rawhide and as William "Bill" Foster, Sr. in the soap opera The Young and the Restless.

Charles Gray is an actor, best known for his role in the series Rawhide, in which he played Clay Forrester, drover/scout of a cattle drive crew. He also, together with Kathleen Freeman, came up with the story for the Rawhide episode Incident of the Married Widow (season 5, episode 22), an episode in which he did not appear himself.

Previous to his becoming trail scout on the show he also appeared in some earlier episodes, such as The Golden Calf, and The Haunted Hills.

With Eric Fleming, Clint Eastwood, Paul Brinegar, Charles H. Gray. Clay, Wishbone, and Jim find some of their cattle have anthrax and while isolated are taken captive by a Prussian military Officer and held as slaves. When they tell the other workers about American freedom, trouble erupts.
Series producer Charles Marquis Warren based Rawhide on three sources: Cattle Empire is the movie that he directed in 1958 and for which Endre Bohem was a screenwriter and Paul Brinegar, Steve Raines, Rocky Shahan, and Charles H. Gray were actors; all also worked in Rawhide.
