Vytautas Landsbergis (Lithuanian: [ˈvʲîːtɐʊtɐs ˈɫɐ̂ˑnʲdzʲbʲɛrʲɡʲɪs] ⓘ; born 18 October 1932) is a Lithuanian politician and former Member of the European Parliament. He was the first Speaker of Reconstituent Seimas of Lithuania after its independence declaration from the Soviet Union.
Vytautas Landsbergis, a professor of music, became chairman of Sajudis. It quickly became a mass movement, organizing a number of large demonstrations during 1988 and 1989. In February 1989, Sajudis declared the Soviet occupation illegal and formally proclaimed its goal of restoring independence.

VYTAUTAS LANDSBERGIS gimė 1932 m. spalio 18 d. Kaune, architekto Vytauto Landsbergio-Žemkalnio ir akių gydytojos Onos Jablonskytės-Landsbergienės šeimoje. Gimtajame mieste baigė vidurinę ir J. Gruodžio muzikos mokyklas. 1950 m. įstojo į Valstybinę konservatoriją Vilniuje, ją baigė 1955 m. ir ligi šiol gyvena Lietuvos sostinėje.
