Anacortes (/ ˌ æ n ə ˈ k ɔːr t ə s / AN-ə-KOR-təs) is a city in Skagit County, Washington, United States. The name "Anacortes" is an adaptation of the name of Anne Curtis Bowman, who was the wife of early Fidalgo Island settler Amos Bowman. Anacortes' population was 17,637 at the time of the 2020 census.

- Take a Historic Walking Tour. From the moment you arrive in Anacortes, it is apparent that the city takes pride in its historic roots: the gateway to downtown proudly proclaims that you are entering “Historic Downtown Anacortes.”
- Visit the W.T. Preston & Maritime Center. The W.T. Preston is one of the most unique historic features in Anacortes. This permanently dry-berthed ship is one of only two remaining snag boats that helped keep Puget Sound clear for other boats by removing logs, stumps, and other debris for over 50 years.
