• 1 yr. ago. Because spiritual energy is connected to one's spirit/soul - WWX didn't lose his soul when he lost his core, nor when he died; "only" most of his power. And since he was the one to cultivate the core, Suibian also recognized JC as WWX.

It has been mentioned by MXTX in an interview that WWX eventually forms a golden core (or makes it strong enough to actually use) and is able to wield Suibian again. It’s also mentioned/hinted at in one of the audio drama extras.
