Winchester College is an English public school (a long-established fee-charging boarding school for pupils aged 13–18) with some provision for day attendees, in Winchester, Hampshire, England. It was founded by William of Wykeham in 1382 as a feeder school for New College, Oxford, and has existed in its present location ever since.
Winchester College is a boarding school for boys in Years 9 – 13. The Sixth Form welcomes girls and boys as day pupils and is preparing for the entry of girls as boarders when construction of two new boarding houses is complete.
Boarding Experience in Winchester College. Boarding houses are located near the main school, often in old buildings with creaky charm. Houses are officially named after founding masters but commonly referred to by nicknames. Each house accommodates around 60 pupils, fostering a close-knit community.
