There's some extensions from the Chrome Web Store, particularly by Google themselves and require access to their services, that tend to have some issues with logging in. However, most should work interchangeably without any issues noticed.

Aug 19, 2013 · The easiest way around is to just not use the Chrome Web Store, or just don't use Chrome. Chrome is completely useless for me if I can't install extensions. I will not create a google account just so I can download from the chrome store.
