This is in keeping with franchise traditions, as the first ‘Jurassic Park’ was also filmed on this island. Most of the outdoor filming took place at the Jurassic Kahili Ranch in Kilauea, Kauai.

Kauai, for many the most beautiful island of the Hawaiian archipelago, was the inspiration and filming location of the tropical island featured in the movies. Jurassic World was also filmed in Oahu, and the studio work took place at the old Big Easy Studios housed at NASA's Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans.
