Goring-on-Thames (or Goring) is a village and civil parish on the River Thames in South Oxfordshire, England. Situated on the county border with Berkshire, it is 6 mi (10 km) south of Wallingford and 8 mi (13 km) north-west of Reading. It had a population of 3,187 in the 2011 census and was estimated to have increased to 3,335 by 2019.

About. One of the most dramatic locations along the whole length of the Thames is the Goring Gap, a deep passage between the villages of Goring and Streatley, giving magnificent views. The valley is situated between Oxfordshire in The Chilterns AONB and Berkshire in the North Wessex Downs AONB.
Goring (or Goring-on-Thames) is in Oxfordshire and Streatley in Berkshire, but as everything in these villages is within reasonably easy walking distance of everything else, it seems better to deal with them as one. The two villages cluster around a bridge across the River Thames, with an adjacent lock and weir.
