Jan 5, 2006 · Does anyone know a specific episode featuring the orange/tan car? That is the one I remembered (probably because I had the toy that came out in the 70s and it was a Regal painted in that color). I recently re-discovered Kojak re-runs on a local channel, and was suprised to see the brown Century, when what I remembered was an orange Regal. Thanks.
Since the Kojak TV series was already showing in the UK, Mettoy Toy Co. LTD in Northampton, U.K., introduced Corgi Toys (model no. 690,) Kojak ' s Buick as a diecast 1:36 scale replica of the 74 Century car and indicated it as a 74 Regal.
Upon checking my 'Monsterous American car spotters guide 1920-1980' by Tad Burness, I found that in 1973/74 there was no Buick Regal ..as such, It was called Century Regal. I've not taken a photo of my corgi jr. Kojak car ..yet, but here is the larger scale 'Metropolis' police version.

1974 Buick Century in Kojak, TV Series, 1973-1978 Ep. 1.04+. Class: Cars, Sedan — Model origin: Vehicle used a lot by a main character or for a long time.
Corgi misidentified it as a Regal, but hey, close enough, and I got it. I always loved GM sedans, so I liked this car a lot, though the roof beacon was annoying as I wanted a civilian model car! But I caught a couple of Kojak episodes in reruns later on, and sometimes stream an episode.
