Jan 5, 2006 · Re: Kojak's car. No, it was a brown 1974 Buick Century. There was a 1973 model used in the first 2 episodes of the first season (the grille, taillights & bumper were different). However, he stayed with the brown '74 throughout the series run, except for some shot on location in NYC that used a orange/tan '75 Century.
(Probably better detail on here anyway) Can anyone confirm this is a 1974 Century Regal? proctor 2013-11-26 02:29. the original Kojak came out in 1973, thus using a 1973 buick century. You can tell a 73 and 74 a part from teh read end. look where the license plate is. if its in teh bumper its a 73 if its between the tail lights its a 74.

The Kojak Buick is so iconic that Corgi modeled THIS '75 one (albeit identified as a Regal), which is obviously more attractive in a metallic bronze rather than a brown color that must have been a "delete" / credit option when you bought the car!
Corgi misidentified it as a Regal, but hey, close enough, and I got it. I always loved GM sedans, so I liked this car a lot, though the roof beacon was annoying as I wanted a civilian model car! But I caught a couple of Kojak episodes in reruns later on, and sometimes stream an episode.
