  7. May 6, 2024 · There's no doubt that L.A. Confidential is an excellent movie, but best of all time seems like a stretch, especially when considering it beat out films like Casablanca (#3) and The Godfather (#2).

  8. Throw in a fine supporting cast (particularly James Cromwell and Danny DeVito), top-dollar production design, oodles of violence, moments of warmth and humour amid the carnage and you have one of the best mystery films ever made. Yes, L. A. CONFIDENTIAL really is that good!
