- Get a student travelcard. London underground and bus services are run by Transport For London (TFL), who offer a number of student travel deals. One of the cheapest ways international university students can travel is by getting an 18+ Student Oyster photocard, which you can then use to buy a discounted annual travelcard, where you pay an outright fee for unlimited travel on the underground, DLR and bus services for the year.
- Ask for student discount everywhere you go. Many places will proudly advertise their student discount, but many others do not. Get into the habit of asking everyone if they have a student discount, from the little café on the corner to larger high street stores.
- Diversity of Students. London is a super multinational city and this is reflected in its student population. Driven students from all parts of the world rush to London for education: a Bachelor’s, a Master’s, a PhD, an English language certificate, law qualifications, engineering degrees, medical education, and so on….
- Entertainment. Being a student could mean extra free time, long holidays and most of all energy to experience various things! (Believe me, whatever you think, most likely the actual job will be much harder than studying).
- Number of Universities and Courses. Let’s say you are set to moving to London for whatever reason (reason number one is that it is the best city out there).
- Guest Lectures, Conferences, Talks and Other Student Events. The number of universities in London leads to my next point. There are tonnes of student conferences, talks, fairs and events happening every day in London.

Even though I travel a lot, because I live in the 5 th zone in London, and I didn’t mind coming every day to central London just to study because the location of the university is amazing.
