  2. Dec 22, 2006 · Anthony Mackie was great as well. Kate Mara is a good addition to any movie. Not crazy about the performance by Mathew Fox as Red Dawson, but that’s one of the few things I didn’t like.

  5. Mackie’s role is really the heart of the film and he carries much of the picture, especially early on. As a sports film, the story of We Are Marshall is able to break out of some of the usual entrapments of the genre.
