Personally, I liked the idea and the pilot was a pretty good episode, but to my mind, it went downhill after that, and I've only watched most of the first season.

  4. Numb3rs (to the best of my knowledge) was not. Probably I have just rationalized Big Bang Theory by imagining that: 1) The personalities are taken to extremes for comedic expression and 2) the jargon used is purposefully used out of context for comedic purposes.

  5. In summary, I'd highly recommend NUMB3RS, as it introduces viewers a new way of thinking about math. But don't get the wrong idea. In October of 2005, at the start of the 2nd season, David Krumholtz (Charlie) told TV Guide that children as young as 6 were watching. NUMB3RS isn't for kids that young!

I'm not mathematically gifted, but I appreciate the logic behind it, and the universal applicability. Robert Heinlein said "If it can't be expressed mathematically, it's not a fact, but opinion," and he was right.
