The original name of the series was to be Spicy Detective, based on the pulp fiction type comic of the same name, but with a futuristic, Blade Runner type setting. When the show finally aired, however, the name had been changed to Spicy City.
As it stands Spicy City is a curiosity for both sci-fi fans and animation fans. At the time of this writing there's no official home media release of this series and there doesn't appear to be much interest from the rights holders.
