- Though the plot has the potential to make a good film, INCIDENT AT PHANTOM HILL never quite makes the grade. Despite some nice action sequences, the direction is relatively lackluster and indifferent. Characters aren't given much motivation and the script never delivers on its promises.

Incident at Phantom Hill was released in 1966 as the western fad was fading- more's the pity as it's a cracking good western film. A great cast of western stalwarts lead by Robert Fuller from TV's Laramie as the hero and Dan Dureya as the ultimate villain.
Two men (Robert Fuller, Dan Duryea) and a woman (Jocelyn Lane) lead a scramble for $1 million in stolen gold after the Civil War.

Jan 4, 2023 · Incident at Phantom Hill (1966) Robert Fuller is Matt Martin, a Union officer offered a post-Civil War assignment he can’t turn down. He’s asked to recover a $1 million dollar gold shipment lost out West in an engagement with Rebels that cost his brother his life.
At the close of the Civil War, a group of Confederates steals a million dollars in gold from a Union convoy. The gold is hidden in a cave near Phantom Hill, Texas.
