  1. Feb 6, 2020 · Wrap Up. To summarize, I think that the Wings of Fire books are great to read with younger kids, so long as you are aware of the fighting/violence the text contains. The violence/blood is why I recommend that kids be a little bit older before they are given the books to read independently, perhaps in the 9-10 age range.

  3. What you will—and won't—find in this book. Parents need to know that The Dragonet Prophecy is the first book in the bestselling Wings of Fire series by Tui T. Sutherland, one of the writers in the Warriors series. While the cover looks like one of the cute characters from The Land Before Time sprouted wings, it's a bit deceiving.

The series is certainly one for lovers of action, adventure and fantasy. I would suggest they will be most enjoyable for reasonably confident readers from 10 years of age, possibly 9 years if you child is okay with violence and other sensitive content (see above).

  6. Oct 14, 2021 · The characters are well-developed, the action is compelling, and the worldbuilding is detailed. However, the marketing is deceptive-- Wings Of Fire should be for teens, not children. The violence is intense and bloody. Not as horrific as some of these reviews imply it to be, but certainly not appropriate for a child to read.
