All pupils in Year 7 explore this story in Year 7 RE and on their first Christian Values Enrichment day on St Michael’s Day. They make a creative response to the story and offer their own interpretation of what it means to fight evil in their own lives and in the wider world.
May 24, 2024 · Year 8 pupils study the same curriculum as Year 7 except they do not have an explicit Reading lesson or Character for Life lesson and Dance and Drama become separate lessons. Year 9 pupils study all subjects from Year 8 except the majority opt to study only one language.
English in Year 7. When pupils join us at St Michael’s, we ensure a smooth transition from KS2 to KS3 and therefore pupils are encouraged to develop their skills in the three main areas of the curriculum: reading, writing and speaking and listening.
Through middle leadership, every department has developed a carefully sequenced curriculum, starting with our Discovery curriculum in Year 7 and culminating in a wide offering of subjects in KS4. Feb 25, 2021 · Year 7 and 8 pupils have the opportunity to take on leadership roles, which help to prepare them for senior school life. They enjoy a number of residential trips, which build teamwork skills and friendship bonds that will last a lifetime.
All pupils follow a rich curriculum based around engaging activities ensuring they become positive, active learners and understand that Maths is about concepts and is not restricted to following a set of rules. Each year pupils will study 6 main topics lasting approximately 6 weeks.
