     The body of a for loop can be any statement. That includes a compound statement:

     for(...) { do_something;}-

     Or a single statement:

     for(...) do_something;-

     One of the types of statements is a null statement, which is just ;. So this:

     for (length = 0; t[length]; length++);-

     Is a loop whose body is the null statement ;. It's the same as:

     for (length = 0; t[length]; length++) {}-

     >>> is the unsigned bitwise right-shift operator. 0x0F is a hexadecimal number which equals 15 in decimal. It represents the lower four bits and translates the the bit-pattern 0000 1111. & is a bitwise AND operation.

     (x >>> 4) & 0x0F gives you the upper nibble of a byte. So if you have 6A, you basically end up with 06:

     6A = ((0110 1010 >>> 4) & 0x0F) = (0000 0110 & 0x0F) = (0000 0110 & 0000 1111) = 0000 0110 = 06

     x & 0x0F gives you the lower nibble of the byte. So if you have 6A, you end up with 0A.

     6A = (0110 1010 & 0x0F) = (0110 1010 & 0000 1111) = 0000 1010 = 0A

     From what I can tell, it looks like it is summing up the values of the individual nibbles of all characters in a string, perhaps to create a checksum of some sort.

     The . simply means "current working directory"

     docker build

     In the context of the docker build command, you are using it to signal that the build context for docker build is the current working directory. Like so:

     docker build -t mytag:0.1 .-

     Let's say that you have this structure:

     /home/me/myapp/├── Dockerfile├── theapp.py

     And you invoke the docker build command from /home/me/myapp - you will pass the current working directory as the build context. This means that docker will see the following filestructure when building:

     /├── Dockerfile├── theapp.py

     Dockerfile

     In the context of a Dockerfile, it means that same. Both inside and outside the image.

     Take this COPY instruction for example:

     COPY . /app-

     Here the . means the current working directory, where the docker build command is executed. This will be relative the to build context that is passed to the docker build command.

     For this COPY instruction:

     COPY theapp.py .-

     It means, take the file theapp.py and copy it to the working directory of the docker image that is being built. This directory can be set at build time with the WORKDIR instruction, so that:

     WORKDIR /appCOPY theapp.py .

     Would leave you with the file /app/theapp.py inside the resulting docker image.

     Finally, this COPY instruction:

     COPY . .-

     Means take everything from the working directory where the docker build command is issued, relative to the build context that is passed to it. And copy it to the current working directory of the docker image.

     A: .modal-inner-wrap[class] will select all elements that have a CSS class modal-inner-wrap and that also have a class attribute (which they obviously have if they match the first condition).

     Q: [...] and what does it do?

     A: The only reason I can think of why one would add [class] is to raise specificity. This assumption is also supported by your observation

     If I remove the [class] the styling doesn't apply

     const char* what() const throw(); |-> return type |-> name of the method |-> parameter |-> it is a const method |-> exception specification

     It is a const method called what that takes no parameters, returns a const char * and is specified to not throw an exception.

     Note the dynamic exception specifications are deprecated in C++11 and removed in C++17/20. For what it does I quote cppreference:

     If the function throws an exception of the type not listed in its exception specification, the function std::unexpected is called. The default function calls std::terminate, but it may be replaced by a user-provided function (via std::set_unexpected) which may call std::terminate or throw an exception. If the exception thrown from std::unexpected is accepted by the exception specification, stack unwinding continues as usual. If it isn't, but std::bad_exception is allowed by the exception specification, std::bad_exception is thrown. Otherwise, std::terminate is called.
