The monastery church was built as Bavaria’s first rococo church between 1727 and 1733, when Lehel (unlike today!) was a poor area. Inside, you once again find artefacts of the Asam brothers. In April 1944, the church was destroyed down to the outer walls in a bombing raid, and reconstruction continued until 1979.

5 days ago · The Asamkirche is open every day of the week but it has slightly different opening times on Fridays. From Saturday to Thursday, the Asam Church is open from 9 am – 6 pm but on Fridays, it’s only open from 1 pm to 6 pm. Visiting is completely FREE but donations are always appreciated. There are votive candles available for purchase and prayer.
