Oceanus Hopkins. Oceanus Hopkins ( c. 1620 – 1627) was the only child born on the Mayflower [1] during its historic voyage which brought the English Pilgrims to America. Another boy, Peregrine White, was born on board, after arriving in America, as the ship lay at anchor.
Stephen Hopkins was one of the most adventurous of the passengers aboard the Mayflower. He traveled with his second wife, Elizabeth (Fisher) Hopkins, and children Constanta, Giles and Damaris. Elizabeth was pregnant during the voyage and gave birth to a son Oceanus while at sea.
