Price was drafted into the army during the Korean war, but upon release from the military founded the record labels KRC, Double-L Records (2), and Lloyd Price's Turntable, and had several hit singles on the ABC-Paramount label. He also founded a nightclub in New York City called "Lloyd Price's Turntable".
