About. Roosevelt Park Zoo was established in 1921, making it the oldest zoo in North Dakota. Home to more than 65 species (170+ individuals), our residents include: giraffe, lion, okapi, black-footed penguins, red panda, amur tiger, camel, bear, otter, wolf, bison and many more. Plus an aviary and children's zoo.
Roosevelt Park Zoo’s original building was opened to the public on December 18, 1921. Our first permanent structure established RPZ as the first Zoo in North Dakota.
